Registration and Packet Pick-Up
We will need volunteers to get the Race Bibs ready for our runners (2 people per shift, 2 hour shifts).

Volunteers Needed: 6
Wednesday, May 23: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Volunteers are needed to work the registration tables, greet runners and distribute pre-registration packets and shirts on Thursday and Friday, May 24 & 25 at the Chick-fil-A on Victory Blvd (Hey, we'll even throw in a free chicken sandwich!).

We'll also need trained volunteers to register runners the morning of the race – early Saturday, May 26th. Volunteers are asked to be able to work a full 4 hour shift. 2 Team Captains* are needed to lead volunteer shifts Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We would love to use the same volunteers on Thursday and Friday to assist with race registration on Saturday. Prerequisite: Must love chicken (oh, and like to smile)!

Volunteers Needed: 24
Available Hours:
Thursday, May 24: 8:30 am – 7:00 pm, in 4-hour shifts
Friday, May 25: 8:30 am – 7:00 pm, in 4-hour shifts

Hospitality
Are you one of those infectiously friendly people? We need you to take care of our great volunteers! Hospitality volunteers should be comfortable assisting and providing direction to other event volunteers on race day. They will help feed our volunteers and pass out shirts and other tokens of thanks. We'll also need you to be ready to answer questions concerning race events. We need a super friendly Team Captain here, folks!

Volunteers Needed: 5
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 5:30 am – 11:00 am

Gear Check
So what DO runners do with their keys, cell phones and sunglasses? Leave them with Gear Check, of course! Volunteers needed to receive athletes' personal gear, bag it, mark it, and store it at race start-up and release it back the finish. AND...we need a Team Captain.

Volunteers Needed: 4
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 6:00 am – 11:00 am

Course Marshals
Ever want to be a Marshal? These folks are positioned at specific areas and intersections on the race route. Your job is to ensure that runners remain safely on the designated route, direct the runners on the course where changes of direction occur and hold back traffic. You are the eyes and ears of the Race Director in case a runner needs help.

Course Marshals will receive instructions and assignments before race start and will be dismissed once the race has finished. We will need 2 Team Captains.

Volunteers Needed: 20
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 5:00 am – 11:00 am

Water Stops
Volunteers will set up water stops before the race and staff water stations along the course. You'll hand out water to runners and pick up empty cups and clean up post-race. Enthusiasm a must! We need a Team Captain who's not afraid to get wet and cheer loudly.

Volunteers Needed: 8-10
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 6:00 am – 10:00 am

Start/Finish Line
Do you like to see runners cross the finish line? This job is for you! Volunteers will direct athletes through the finish chute, encourage them to keep moving and control the chute area. You'll have to (kindly) direct spectators to stay clear of the clock and not crowd the finish line so runners can freely pass through. The best part: distribute water to the runners and direct finishers and spectators to refreshments and post-race activities. Fun, huh?

Volunteers Needed: 15
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 6:00 am – 10:00 am

Medical Volunteers
Medical Volunteers will provide non-technical support (water, ice, towels) and any other assistance deemed necessary by our contracted Medical Team on site. Certified MD's, RN's/LPN's, EMT's, CMT's are encouraged to contact the volunteer coordinator, myrna.miller@flatoutevents.com with details of your medical experience. We love our nurses, medics, techs and docs!

Volunteers Needed: 5
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 6:00 am – 10:00 am

Tear-Down
Another bonding opportunity! Volunteers that like to tear things apart (okay, down) will be responsible for helping to clean-up, take equipment down, load it to trailers and trucks and help 'leave the park as pristine as when we arrived". Volunteers should expect light to moderate lifting.

Volunteers Needed: 8
Hours: Saturday, May 26: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Notes:

1. We would love to have our Team Captains have previous race experience in the desired area. But if not, a desire to take charge is a must! Please tell us about your experience when registering.

2. Please do not bring children under 14 yrs old with you when you volunteer!
3. If you are volunteering on Saturday morning, please do not plan to run in the race. You will not be able to do both.
